     Red, Maroon, or Rubi Other
     San Antonio, Texas

Thursday July 29: I see this woman and her sister entering a Subway on 410 and evers till i see 3 other people in their car alone, well kids to be exact ranging from 5 to 12. I dont think its right to leave their kids all alone in the car on a hot day. I saw a man passing by the car, he looked like a gangbanger. i thought something were gonna happen to those kids.

You're flagging them because the kids were sitting in the car, and the oldest one was 12? I would guess that my siblings and I were probably in that situation dozens of times. People today are just out of whack paranoid. The overwhelming majority won't even let their kids walk to school anymore, because they have a huge (and misplaced) fear.

I guess you missed the part about it being hot. Kids die from being in cars on hot days all too often in the southern states. I don't know about Texas, but here in Nevada on a hot day it can easily reach 130 f in a car with the windows up.

Were the windows up then? Did the children appear to be in distress? The post sounded like a general objection to leaving the kids in the car alone. It also said they were going into a Subway. That is not exactly a long trip, at all. There are far too many busybodies in modern society who think they know what is best for other people. If it's unacceptable to leave your kids in the car for 5 minutes by themselves, maybe 50 feet away from you (with a TWELVE YEAR OLD there, no less), then letting them walk to school on their own must be totally out of the question, right? Why even let them out of the house? People 50 years ago would have scoffed at our attitudes.

It must be nice to have the ability to wander aimlessly through life without giving a second thought to the welfare of helpless children. Yes, a 12 year old is still a child. Again, you must not live in the south. Just a heads up....it is a criminal offense to leave a child in a parked car (even with the windows down, the air conditioner on, for ANY length of time) here in Las Vegas, NV. Too many narcissistic parents such as yourself have killed their children here by leaving them in parked cars. I invite you to come to Las Vegas in the summer and sit in a parked car in the daytime heat. I'd be surprised if you last longer than 1 or 2 minutes before you get out as quickly as you can and see the error of your ways.
