     Black SCION  XB
     Pataskala, Ohio

My wife and I parked our car in front of a Scion XB and noticed a dog was panting heavily. I wished I was able to post the picture I took. It was so hot out that day and the windows were cracked only a little bit. When we came back out 15 minutes later, the car was still there and so was the dog. Regardless, it still shocks me that we still have people with ZERO common sense that they still leave pets and kids in a hot ass car. I guarantee you if they had ice cream in the car or some other perishable items, their fat asses would be in such a hurry to get back out there and get back on the road. I wanted to go report the incident to store where we parked, but felt if I confronted the person, it wouldn't have been good for me. Nor did I feel that the store would have paged the person out to their car just for a Dog.

Call the cops, bust out the window and rescue the dog. Then wait for the owner to come out and beat the crap out of 'em. Pure stupidity - another animal "lover"!

In my mind, thats exactly what I wanted to do. We were running behind on getting a cat from the vet. They were getting ready to close and needed to pick him up. I am working on getting some stickers to paste to people windshields regarding leaving your animals in cars. How would they like it if they were left in a hot ass car for a 1/2 hour or more?

in many states there are laws against leaving animals in cars when it's too hot, call the cops, they'll get the fire department to bust the windows out for you, and nearly every store manager will page bad pet owners to get their animals out of the car. Just give them the chance. Some really enjoy it... AO

Aren't you people getting a bit over the top here? Bust out the windows? Beat up the owner? I'll bet anything the cops wouldn't be willing to bust the window out for that. I see people sitting in their own cars for longer. Having them paged makes more sense. What would you have the owner do? They probably aren't permitted to bring the dog in with them.

What would you have the owner do? LEAVE THE FRIGGIN' DOG AT HOME.

"LEAVE THE FRIGGIN' DOG AT HOME." Yeah no shit. As a dog owner myself THE ONLY TIME I have left my dog in the car is if it is cold outside and it isn't more than a COUPLE of minutes AND when I can see my dog in clear view. Common sense says don't take the dog with you to the store, or just take the friggin dog home. Yes, cops are willing to bust out windows. It's animal cruelty and what cop have you not met that isn't itching to use his baton?

Sure, they should leave the dog at home as the best option, but I'm not sure leaving the dog out there for 20 minutes or so, with the windows cracked, warrants busting out the windows and beating the owner. Nobody really knows why they had the dog with them, and how long it was left out there. I think if I decided it was worth taking those extreme measures, I'd attempt to find the owner and get them to let the dog out first.
