I was in far right lane that was about to end, idiot was in middle lane. He was driving slow so I accelerated to get ahead of him but he didn't even know I was alongside him to the right until I honked at him but he just ignored me. I continued driving on the road shoulder after my lane ended and abruptly accelerated to since there was a parked car on the shoulder and pulled ahead of him and was able to get into an actual travel lane. Driver of S-10 nearly rear-ended me and swerved into left lane to pass and force fit his SUV between the me and the car in front of me nearly clipping my car. I followed him into the smiths parking lot on 12th and Harrison and asked him where he learned to drive. His answer was the obvious "I didn't see you alongside me". If you and others would check your blind spots like you are required to do you would have no problems seeing cars alongside you or behind you. After explaining to him how it is a VERY good idea to check your blind spots he became a smart ass and said that I could have easily slowed and merged behind him as there "were no cars for at least a mile" behind him. You were going 40 and was going the posted speed limit of 55 MPH. If a car is going faster than you, you should let them in even if your lane doesn't end.

"I continued driving on the road shoulder after my lane ended and abruptly accelerated to since there was a parked car on the shoulder and pulled ahead of him and was able to get into an actual travel lane." Yes, he was an oblivious left lane bandit, but what he did was not illegal. What YOU did is!

ROTFLMAO! This post isn't serious, is it? "Check your blind spots!" That's a laugh riot. Yeah, I always check my blind spots to compensate for law breaking, dangerously idiotic drivers that fail to yield and try to pass me on the shoulder! I'll get right on that! This is the best wire filed in a while! The flagged driver did nothing wrong at all. He was in the rightmost through lane, and had an IDIOT attempt to suicidally pass him on the shoulder, barreling down on a parked car. And YOU flagged HIM! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have you guys thought that maybe he wasn't able to get over, and that was why he was driving on the shoulder?

Seriously, you agree that someone driving in the rightmost through lane should "check their blind spots" and make way for someone passing them in an ending lane, or on the shoulder? Really? Seriously? I'll say one thing. This is one of the only scenarios I've ever heard of where a driver passed on the right was NOT part of the problem. Annoying for going slow, perhaps, but give me a break. This flag is just beyond the pale. Ease off the accelerator, pull in behind the slow driver, and pass them on the left, like someone who deserves a driver's license would do.

hasn't he flagged people before for speeding up to pass him on the right instead of merging behind him? Way to go, keep showing that hypocritical rearend and sooner or later the cops will be pulling you over and all the people you have harassed will be able to laugh as they pass by.

I said that could be the reason, I never said the person was in the right.

"Have you guys thought that maybe he wasn't able to get over, and that was why he was driving on the shoulder?" Actually, chaosflamespirit, you DIDN'T say that could be the reason.

... well, I have Asperger's Syndrome, so sometimes I have a hard time explaining what makes sense in my head to me. *sigh*

Chaos, I don't have Asperger's and I have trouble getting the words from my brain to my mouth or hands too. It really pisses me off when someone (esp. hubby) tells me to "spit it out" when I get stuck. Mine is because of temporal lobe epilepsy. So, you aren't alone, I know what it's like to know what you want to say, and not be able to say it. Especially the more upset I am. then I review it in my mind and ask myself why I didn't say this or that. oh well, *sigh* too :D AO
