"Smoking in your own cars laws" = Nannies out of control. As long as the person has a window open, it really is nobody's business. Despite the good intentions, this is just going too far in invading people's privacy. Primary offense for smoking, windows down or not? Ridiculous. Self appointed governmental do-gooders are already keeping people from smoking in their own homes in Belmont, CA. Where does this end? You can't outlaw every secondary cause of every bad thing that can happen to anybody without grave unintended consequences.

smoking in a car with a child in it even with the window down is not healthy. Or a good idea, and if you think it is, you really need your head examined. I would say it is a form of child abuse. the child does not ask to be exposed to mommy or daddy's disgusting habit that has Severe Health Implications. I have health problems from being exposed to second hand smoke as a child, my mom smoked in the house and car. You may call it a nanny state, but it is a damn good law!

Random Capitalization helps me get My Point Across. Stuff your moral indignation up your ass. Before you get all "smokers like you" on me, I'll have you know that I don't smoke, I'm just able to see through the "smoke screen". Fuck the anti-tobacco crusade. It's not the tobacco that's so harmful, it's the shit the tobacco companies treat the tobacco and paper with to make it more potent, addictive, and burn quicker. Get rid of that shit and tobacco becomes as harmful as weed (not that inhaling smoke is "healthy" anyway.) OTOH, if more smokers were more respectful with their habit and didn't treat it as a God given right, I don't think we would have this problem in the first place. Had your mother smoked outside, or at least not with you around, you wouldn't have your complications and may not feel so strongly against smoking. But that's speculation and doesn't change that you are a militant anti-smoking douche now.

My parents smoked in the car with the windows UP. My mom didn't want to mess her hair. So much for my lungs.
I would love to be a cop - I would spend 16 hours a day giving tickets to those who throw their butts out the window. Littering is disgusting.
