The SLOW merge onto an expressway!

I don't really have a specific flag to post but more and more I am noticing hesitant and scared drivers merging onto expressways going WAY under the speed limits.  I was behind one car the other night that merged at 30 MPH!  Don't you slow mergers understand that the on ramp of expressways are called acceleration lanes for a reason??  And that the people traveling in the right lane are not doing 30, they're doing 55-60?  Get some balls or get off the expressways!

Usually through traffic has the right of way. Ramp traffic has to yield. Maybe they have had an accident or a close miss before. I slow down in a merge if there is a lot of traffic in the right lane, but this granny will "punch it" to get up to speed to merge.

One of my pet peeves, too! Especially the Northwest bypass ramp onto I15 in Great Falls, MT. By-the-way, here in Montana, the drivers in the right lane are NOT doing 55-60. They're doing 75-80! The speeders in the left lane are doing 90+!

p.s. The speed limit on the Northwest Bypass/Vaughn Frontage Road is 55 as it goes by the onramp. That's how fast I'm going at the BOTTOM of the onramp. When I get to the top, I'm doing 75!

People on the road will speed up and close the gap so that no one can get in front of them. I have ended up driving into the shoulder at the end of the merge lane because I was speeding up to merge at the same speed traffic was going, and some jackass decides that he can't stand being behind one more person on the road. I really piss them off because I create gaps for the mergers if I can not get over to let them in... another peeve... when someone gets over to let a merger in, and the person behind them speeds up to close the gap so that the merger STILL can't get in.... sometimes you can't win because other people are too damned pissy on the highways... relax, enjoy the ride, listen to some music, drink some decaff ...AO...
